Yorkshire-based photographer Howard Fricker has released his first book of art-nude images and verse.
Until Now, the first book published by H&E publisher Hawk Editorial, is an 80-page collection of stark, abstract nude and semi-nude pictures, juxtaposed with Howard’s own poetic compositions.
Howard, who lives in the Dales, trained as a photographer when he joined the Royal Air Force in 1966. He says: “I like to keep my work as simple and straightforward as possible; I eschew props and fussy backdrops and prefer normal everyday settings. I concentrate mainly on nude figure and portrait photography and endeavour to bring out the sensuality and sexuality of the human form. My work has been shown in both single and joint exhibitions.
“I work with all ages from young amateurs to mature amateurs and professionals too. I believe that mature models often bring something extra to the composition with their uninhibited poise and relaxed attitude to modelling and life in general. I mainly work in B/W with stark contrasts, which can create strong images.”
