This month, we focus on the psychology of naturism. Our contributors (several new, others regular) come from all walks of life, and have all reached a stage where they are happy with their interpretation of the lifestyle. How, why and when they got there is another matter.
Our nude and very happy blogger Marc is a firm advocate of starting them young, and looks at the (often contentious) issue of introducing children to naturism at as early an age as possible.
Timothy Sargent wonders if there isn’t something of Peter Pan in all naturists, both in our refusal to grow up and in our attempts to turn naturist clubs and resorts into something resembling Neverland (not in a Michael Jackson sense, of course).
With Steve Cockram, it has been a more gradual process. A long-term naturist himself, he has in the past been a little reticent about sharing his opinions with others, until he decided: why not? And for Charlene Cuthbertson, it was about more than weighing up the pros and cons.
Meanwhile, if you’re looking for ideas as to where you can enjoy naturism, as ever we have plenty of inspiration: the beaches of Spain, the lakes of France, a yoga retreat in the Canaries, a hideaway location in Canada, and even a comedy club in New York.
Plus: Dave Power identifies the different types of male naturist traveller, Helen Berriman organises a female-only break in Fuerteventura, Robert Sanders looks at nudity in the video gaming industry, and Rick Morley meets true bohemian Carmen for his latest photoshoot.
