We’re incredibly lucky to work with a fantastic and growing network of writers, designers, photographers, contributors and opinion-formers from the UK and around the world. They bring different backgrounds, experiences, ideas and perspectives to H&E – and that variety of voices is a huge part of what makes the magazine what it is.

Helen Berriman

Helen is a regular columnist for H&E, British Naturism’s Women’s Officer, and host of the Women in Focus podcast. For H&E, she writes about naturism from a personal and often quite candid perspective, covering everything from her own experiences and travels to the people, places and issues that make up the wider naturist world. Some pieces are serious, some are lighter, but they are always rooted in real experiences and genuine conversations. She says: “The message I keep coming back to is very simple: you do not have to change your body before you are allowed to enjoy it. Naturism taught me that, and I’d love more people to have the chance to discover it for themselves."

Says Theresa: “I’ve been contributing to H&E for over 25 years. Once a youngish bright thing, I am now an oldish, hopefully still fairly bright thing!” “My news and views column Spanish Eye has been running since 2004, and over the years I’ve also written stand-alone articles based on my many naturist travels and adventures around the world and in Spain, where I’ve lived for well over half of my adult life.” Theresa explains that she never really ‘became’ a naturist. “I just was. At university and in my globetrotting backpacking days, if there were naked people on the beach, I took my clothes off; if skinny-dipping was suggested, I was in there; if the hot springs were clothing optional, it was a no-brainer.”

Julien Claudé-Pénégry

View Posts
Based in Paris, Julien writes H&E’s monthly Focus On France column, sharing news, insights, travel writing and reflections on the evolution of modern naturism in the country. He also serves as a spokesperson for the movement, authoring books such as Voir la France tout nu (published by Hachette) and the Petit Futé naturist guide, alongside promoting inclusive spaces. Naturism is not about how you look, says Julien, but how you feel. “It is the ultimate path towards self-respect, social harmony and peace with your own body. I hope to inspire others to step out of their comfort zones, shed their clothes and taste this simple, authentic freedom. Give naturism a go: to try it is to love it.”

Naked Wanderings - Nick & Lins

View Posts
Nick and Lins describe themselves as naturists who love to travel. Or travellers who love to be naked. Either way, since 2017, they have been continuously roaming the world in search of places where clothes are just an option. And for most of that time, they’ve also been contributing an exclusive monthly column to H&E, writing on topics as diverse as making naturism safer for women, what exactly constitutes a nude beach, carbon footprints, naturist villages, and what does ‘clothing-optional’ actually mean in practice. And all of that is in between their entertaining and informative posts on their own website and social media pages on just about every naturist destination you can think of. And several you might not have done yet. It’s a wide and wonderful naturist world. And Nick and Lins have visited most of it…
